Simpatico Systems, a firm that offers IT services as well as security and automation systems, has purchased a majority stake of Adage IT, a Santa Clarita technology company.

Based in Lubbock, Texas, Simpatico also has locations in Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado and Arizona. The company was established in 1983 and is geared toward providing products and services to small- and medium-sized businesses.

“Adage IT is a great fit into our growing company,” said Simpatico CEO Greg Bazar in a statement. “The crew in California follows many of the same values we have at Simpatico.”

In addition to IT services, Simpatico offers security systems, such as burglar and fire alarms, building access controls and video and audio surveillance equipment.

Pat Vaughn, director of marketing for Simpatico, says the firm will continue to maintain the Valencia operation, which employs 10 full-time staff, and plans to hire as many as four more employees. “We’ve even swapped staffs to further educate each crew on each office environment,” says Vaughn.

“The biggest benefit for the Santa Clarita market is product offerings in security, surveillance, audio, visual and some automation,” says Vaughn. “Adage and Simpatico shared a very similar vision, to make technology easy for small- to medium-sized businesses.”

In Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Arizona, Simpatico Systems offers systems that are focused on asset control, intrusion detection, loss prevention, overhead music and marketing or complete turn-key technology.  “It’s an added layer we will offer former Adage partners,” says Vaughn.

The new partnership under Simpatico Systems brings not only an expanded IT offerings, but also new opportunities to provide surveillance, life safety, audio, visual and security (SLAVS) to Adage’s existing customer base and potential partners, says Vaughn, who adds that Simpatico is on target to have sales of more than $6 million by the end of the year.

“It’s a huge benefit for the Adage IT customers … additional services, increased resources and a deeper knowledge base to pull from,” says Jeramia Franklin, Simpatico Systems’ new virtual chief information officer.
