No active flames remained as of 1:50 p.m.

Two lanes of the northbound lanes of Highway 14 near Sand Canyon were closed as of 2:03 p.m., a California Highway Patrol official said.

The blaze was mostly contained within the edge of the Sand Fire burn area. That fire, which burned for nearly a week in July,  began in the area of Saturday’s fire.

No structures were threatened, county officials said.
