On Saturday, September 17, eighty guests, or should I say friends, gathered together to celebrate 90 wonderful years of a special woman’s life. The Rev. Marian A. Moreman was born on Labor Day, September 6, 1926.

The celebration luncheon, or Joy-Fest, which was put together by her daughter, Debbie Hendricks, was held at the Friendly Valley Annex in Santa Clarita.

Rev. Moreman was recognized by Assemblyman Scott Wilk, and was presented with a certificate from the City of Santa Clarita by our mayor Bob Kellar.

Dr. Samuel Kojoglanian, a top heart specialist in California, presented her with an autographed copy of his latest book, “Counting What Counts.”

Gospel musical guests included Pastor Pete and Linda Mano, Dr. Larry Abernathy, Lillie Knauls, David and Donna Sloat and choir, and Sharon Elmore.

The evening concluded with Pastor David Sloat singing, “We Shall Behold Him,” by Dottie Rambo.

Moreman said that she “loved singing the song.”
