It’s a shame that the Oct. 8 Knight and Caforio debate at the Valencia Country Club charged $25 for tickets to the event.

These debates should be open to the general public free of charge because many are living day to day on Social Security and can’t afford to pay to become informed electorate.

The event could well have been conducted in one of the many Santa Clarita facilities that have space for the audience.

There are many community events that cut out seniors and low-income residents because of high-priced tickets. I guess we are the silent minority.
