On Saturday, August 27, the Santa Clarita Cobras Hockey Club committed their time to the “SRD Straightening Reigns” ranch to help with some much needed chores around the area.  Players, coaching staff, and parents alike all joined forces to help accomplish many grueling tasks that are needed to keep the ranch in working order.  From digging and filling water line trenches, to cleaning stalls for goats and horses, every member of the Cobras did their part in supporting Straightening Reigns.  The team shared a bonding experience by learning to work together to tackle seemingly mountainous tasks, while also learning a thing-or-two about caring for livestock around the ranch.

SRD Straightening Reigns is a local support group that offers many different opportunities for children and teenagers alike, struggling with self-confidence, family issues, bullying, grief, life obstacles and more, to express themselves and to get the help they need to overcome their problems.

Editor’s note: The Santa Clarita Cobras Hockey Club is new to Santa Clarita. Beginning their second season, the team is comprised of players from Canyon, Hart, Golden Valley, and Saugus High Schools along with players from surrounding areas. The team is a member of the Los Angeles Kings High School Hockey League. Games are played at the Ice Station in Valencia.
