A stubborn truck fire near Gorman kept fire crews busy for more than two hours Monday morning.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to a truck on fire on Highway 138 at Gorman Post Road at 9:20 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers described the burning truck as a moving truck that was fully engulfed in flames.

The semi truck was completely destroyed by the fire.

“The tractor and trailer and all contents were severely damaged. Highway 138 was shut down for the better part of an hour until LA County and Kern County firefighters could control the blaze,” said Jeff Zimmerman, who photographed the firefighting efforts.

A sig alert was set up shortly after 10:15 a.m., stropping all westbound traffic on Highway 138.  The sig alert was lifted at 11:22 a.m.

No one was injured in the incident.
