The Santa Clarita Business Incubator is hosting Innovate Santa Clarita, a series of events in partnership with Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, the Small Business Development Center and College of the Canyons, to highlight entrepreneurship and innovation.
A two-part business modeling series will be held from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 and 27, at the Santa Clarita Business Incubator, 22704 9th St., Santa Clarita. The workshop is targeted toward business owners at all levels who want to learn how to build, design and define a business model. Session one, Thursday, Oct. 20, will feature a discussion on taking a concept from a business idea to a business model. Also, a tech startup networking event will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Newhall Refinery, 24258 Main St., in downtown Newhall. This event will give attendees the opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship in Santa Clarita. Innovate Santa Clarita wraps up on Nov. 4-6 with Startup Weekend SCV. Startup Weekend brings together software developers, designers and business-minded entrepreneurs to team up and build several new startups in just 54 hours. Startup Weekend SCV is part of a larger global event that creates a forum for creators and idealists to gain insight and relevant, real-time experience. Weekend activities include rapid-fire startup pitches, prototype building, mentor feedback, a keynote speaker and a “Shark Tank”-style judging session.
