Annette Lucas: Stand up for Boydston, who stands up for residents

Our family will be casting our votes Nov. 8 for Councilman TimBen Boydston because we firmly believe he represents the residents of Santa Clarita without an agenda or reason to feel compelled to lean toward any of his campaign supporters.

Even before TimBen Boydston became a city councilman he stood side-by-side with many residents when projects could adversely affect their neighborhoods.

Personally, I was thrilled when he stepped up to help the Calgrove and Wiley neighborhoods, which were up against a proposed 1.3 million-square-foot-development on just 38 acres.

After he was elected to the Santa Clarita City Council, Councilman TimBen Boydston stood firm against the other council members when the digital billboard proposal was almost a done deal without any public input.

Councilman Boydston stood shoulder-to-shoulder with many residents to fight and defeat the billboards that would have dotted our freeways and open space.

In just four years Councilman Boydston has stood firm against red light cameras, the “rain tax” and protecting seniors and low-income families that live in mobile home parks from huge rent increases.

Bravo! Vote for TimBen, if for no other reason than his highly unorthodox name. 🙂

  • Great endorsement Annette. I take your word and TimBen Boydstons’. He is an independent thinker of the people and not of the establishment. The establishment is not cool anymore.
