When Santa Clarita Valley voters go to their polling places this Election Day, there is one clear choice for who should be representing Area 4 of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees: Michele Jenkins.
As an alumna of College of the Canyons, a board member for both the COC Foundation and the Chancellor’s Circle, and a business owner who has frequent dealings with the college, I care deeply about seeing COC be the best it can be.
It is because of people such as Michele that COC is one of the leading community colleges in the state.
Over the years, I have observed how dedicated Michele is to making sure the college continues to improve. I’ve seen how she has played an integral role in continually moving the college forward and making decisions that are in the best interests of students and the community.
Spend some time with her and it quickly becomes clear she truly cares about serving students and ensuring they have access to excellent educational opportunities that prepare them for career success.
She has been a passionate leader for helping secure increased funding for COC to add more majors and more classes. She has also remained committed to the development and expansion of the Canyon Country campus serving students on the east side of the valley.
Full disclosure: My company has done work for Michele during this campaign. However, even if she had chosen another vendor I would have zero hesitation in standing by my assertion that she is the best choice to represent Area 4 for the COC board.
This Nov. 8, I encourage SCV voters to cast their ballots for Michele Jenkins. She is the right choice to continue serving the community on the COC Board of Trustees.
