After defeating Southlands Christian 27-26, Santa Clarita Christian could be looking at their first-ever league title in 11-man.

The win moves the Cardinals to 4-0 in San Joaquin League play with a regular season finale against 4-0 Saddleback Valley Christian looming Thursday at College of the Canyons.

Billy Latch kicked the game-winning 37-yard field goal with less than two minutes left in the game.

Cardinals quarterback Tristan Miller was 15-for-23 for 278 yards and three touchdowns. His primary target was Tyler Kalinske, who had four catches for 122 yards and one touchdown.

SCCS’s Seth Yu was the leading rusher with 172 yards on 12 carries.

“It’s easily the biggest win that we’ve had because of the adversity,” said Coach Garrick Moss.

Kickoff on Thursday is set for 7:30 p.m.
