ZOE’s Annual Rescue Walk is right around the corner! Hundreds, both adults and children, come together to this event to bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking. Though the issue can be very dark and overwhelming, there is something that we can all do to make a difference…to join together in the fight against human trafficking. Our 5th Walk date is November 5. Registration beings at 9 a.m. and the Walk follow at 10 a.m.
We will start at LA Mission College, located at 3356 Eldridge Ave., Sylmar and end at El Cariso Park also in Sylmar. Each year, there is a different focus that is highlighted at the Walk. This year’s focus is MY FIGHT. It is based on our new program at ZOE called My Generation My Fight that emerged out of the heart of a child who was born to fight injustice.
Carol Hart is ZOE’s President and co-Founder, who as a child, heard about the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade then as a teen, heard about the Holocaust in Nazi Germany. She told God, “I wish I were alive then. I wish I could have done something – anything to help.” Years later, Carol & her husband, Michael, heard about the ever growing human trafficking trade that uses innocent children as labor slaves, beggar slaves, and sex slaves.
From that moment on, their lives were changed forever. They realized they are alive today and they can do something. It was now their fight and it can be your fight too! You too can do something to bring an end to human trafficking.
Our Walk is a family event so we encourage you to bring your children! Yes, even children can join the fight to end child trafficking! Just look at the burning flame that started in a child’s life who heard about the injustice that had happened which has resulted in the birth of ZOE International.
