A good Samaritan who allegedly intervened to help a woman seen fighting with a man ended up injured and his alleged attacker arrested.

The incident happened Saturday shortly before 10:30 p.m. when the victim saw a man and a woman fighting, Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station told The Signal Monday.

“He and a witness stopped to help,” she said. “The woman escaped and the suspect turned on the victim.

“He hit the victim while holding keys in his hands which caused lacerations,” Cambra said. “Following the physical fight, the suspect broke the victim’s car window.

“The female was located.  She is in a dating relationship with the suspect and now denies that there was any type of fight between them,” Cambra said. “The suspect was arrested a short distance away.

“He was treated at a local hospital for injuries and booked for assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism,” she said.

Arrested was Anthony Martin Flores, 24, of Santa Clarita.

Flores was placed in custody  with bail set at $50,000.
