I ask you to join me in voting for Bruce Fortine for the Area 2 College of the Canyons Board of Trustees seat in the upcoming Nov. 8 election.
As a Foundation Board member and committee chairman for the Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee, I have had the opportunity to work with Bruce as a member of the Board of Trustees at College of the Canyons for several years.
I believe Bruce has fairly represented all levels at the college from faculty to administration and students in a very positive manner and is fair to all parties’ concerns put before him.
We are all fortunate to live and work in the Santa Clarita Valley with a community college that is ranked No. 2 in the state for completion of student goals.
College of the Canyons is a leader through proactively implementing new programs to work with students to meet their educational goals. We are competing on a statewide and national level with tremendous success.
This does not happen without organized and efficient leadership in all facets of the college stemming from the Board of Trustees working together with faculty and administration to meet the needs of the students first to acquire a better future for all.
Bruce has been at the forefront of leadership with College of the Canyons and in our community. He has devoted his time to serve the needs of all parties involved and work to improve the education of our students, in turn improving our workforce and our society.
Bruce Fortine’s continued commitment and expertise working on the COC board will continue the progress of the students today and our students tomorrow.
