“Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy. Music is the electrical soil in which the spirit lives, thinks and invents.”

– LudWig van Beethoven

For many years now Jerry Danielsen has proven his commitment to youth, education and music.

The annual recital he hosts at the Hyatt Hotel for his music students is a harvest of dedication, development and talent. Jerry and I collaborated in publishing and editing a literary magazine here in Santa Clarita for nearly 20 years.

Besides creativity and imagination, Jerry’s passion, inspiration, and integrity are always imbedded in his presence.

These are qualities, along with a deliberate and analytic mind, that he will bring to the COC board.

When Jerry and I visit, the question he always brings up is — what is best for the students?

Retired after 40 years as a classroom high school teacher and the 1999 Hart District Teacher of the Year, I have a good sense of what is educationally effective. I believe the COC board will truly benefit with Jerry Danielsen’s vision and election.
