One suspected burglar was arrested and two others sought early Monday morning after local sheriff’s deputies intercepted the three poised to break into a Valencia home.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station spotted three suspicious men near a home on the 24700 block of Sand Wedge Lane, north of Masters Cup Way and south of the California Institute of the Arts, about 4:50 a.m., Sgt. Michael Konecny told The Signal Monday.

“We had three possible burglars run from us,” he said. “They were in the backyard of a house on Sand Wedge Lane.

“There was a foot chase. One was caught, two are outstanding,” Konecny said Monday morning.

“The one we caught had burglary tools and was caught before the burglary,” he said. “He was also in possession of methamphetamine.”
