For the 14th year, Six Flags Magic Mountain will offer free admission to guests who bring a full bag of non-perishable food items to the park Monday.
The “Bag-A-Ticket” holiday food drive will benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Those that donate a full bag of items will receive a free park admission ticket for Monday.
Local food bank, SCV Food Pantry, also benefits from donations made to the L.A. organization.
According to Six Flags Magic Mountain, the food drive is one of the largest single-day food collection efforts for the food bank, whose mission is to fight hunger in the Los Angeles community.
During the previous 13 years, the Bag-A-Ticket food drive has collected and donated nearly 150,000 pounds of food to the food bank, according to Six Flags Magic Mountain’s website.
Non-perishable items on the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s “Most Wanted” List include:
- Canned Goods: beef stew, ravioli, cannelloni, spaghetti, tuna, peanut butter, yams, chicken, beef, fruits, vegetables, soups, baby food
- Packaged Items: hot cereal (grits, oatmeal, etc.), mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, powdered eggs, complete meals, pancake mixes, baby cereal, rice
- Drinks: coffee, juices in non-breakable containers, supplemental drinks, baby formula, dry milk
On Monday, the park will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with “Holiday in the Park” beginning at 5 p.m.
