A local man was caught in the act when he was found spray painting underneath a Canyon Country bridge Wednesday evening.

Canyon Country resident Ricardo Gomez, 23, was detained and arrested for felony vandalism after Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Detective Jeff Burrow found him in the act of tagging Wednesday at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Gomez had spray painted the letters “ROVE” underneath a bridge on Sierra Highway near Sandy Drive.

After he was detained, Gomez admitted to similar tagging incident dating back to February 2015 that caused more than $10,000 in graffiti damages to the city.
