Officials say windy weather will continue to hit the Santa Clarita Valley throughout the weekend, but conditions should calm down after Saturday afternoon.

“We’re on the tail end (of the advisory-level winds),” said Meteorologist Robbie Munroe of the National Weather Service.

“It doesn’t mean we’re going to stop seeing winds, it just means we’re falling below advisory levels” he said.

The advisory level is defined as sustained wind speed of at least 30 mph.

After 2 p.m., winds are expected to drop to 10 to 20 mph through Saturday, after which Munroe says it will taper off to about 5 to 10 mph through late Sunday.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Santa Clarita Valley until 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
