A Valencia auto clinic is looking for community nominations of people who might benefit from receiving a car this holiday season.

360 Auto Clinic will donate a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser to an individual who is deserving of a car, but may not have the means to purchase one for himself or herself.

“We just wanted to give back to the community,” said 360 Auto Clinic Owner Serjik Ghahramanians.  “We knew that people were hurting that needed a car, but didn’t have the means to get it.”

This is the third year the company, which moved to Santa Clarita three months ago from La Crescenta, Calif., is conducting a car giveaway.

“The first time, a customer came to our shop and he had a car where the transmission was bad,” Ghahramanians said.  “He just wanted to give the car away to someone who could use it.”

Ghahramanians and his team offered to fix up the car’s broken transmission themselves and then donate the car to a community member in need.

“The customer loved the idea and he said ‘let’s do it,’” Ghahramanians said.

The first year, the company received 50 nominations for the car giveaway and a committee consisting of members of the Sheriff’s Department and First Baptist Church selected the recipient.

Over the years the tradition has continued when individuals choose to donate their cars instead of replacing broken engines or fixing inoperative transmissions.

This year, a d PT Cruiser was donated by a woman who overheated her car’s engine beyond repair.

“We told her about the program and she loved it too,” Ghahramanians said.

360 Auto Clinic replaced the engine and fixed up the vehicle so it is fully-functional for its next owner.

“The car looks great and it is very reliable,” Ghahramanians said.  “The person who gets this will get a very a good car.”

The auto clinic is looking for the “right person” to donate the car to Dec. 22.

“We want to give it to someone who really needs the car and that receiving it will help change their life,” Ghahramanians said.

Nominations for the car giveaway may be submitted on 360 Auto Clinic’s online form at www.360autoclinic.com.
