Attempted murder suspect arrested in Castaic, jailed in Van Nuys

A Castaic man arrested this past weekend on suspicion of attempted murder for allegedly shooting his friend multiple times remained in custody Wednesday without bail.

Bishoy Fahmy, 27, was arrested Saturday night at his residence on The Old Road by officers of the Los Angeles Police Department out of Van Nuys, LAPD Det. Meghan Aguilar told The Signal Wednesday.

“The suspect was a friend of the victim,” she said. “There was a disagreement and the suspect fired multiple shots at the victim, and the victim was struck.”

The victim survived his gunshot wounds.

LAPD detectives with the Van Nuys Division conducted an investigation, Aguilar said.

“They went up to his residence on The Old Road and arrested him,” she said.

Fahmy remains in custody in Van Nuys.
