An 18-year-old Sylmar man has been arrested on suspicion of felony burglary in connection with audio-visual equipment allegedly stolen from a Valencia hotel.

“A projector and other presentation equipment was stolen from a conference room at the Residence Inn on the 25300 block of The Old Road,” Lt. Ignacio Somoano of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said Thursday.

Deputies contacted the young man and, in the process, recovered a stolen remote for the projector, he said.

“He was charged with burglary for stealing the equipment from the conference room,” Somoano said.

The suspect was arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and placed in custody with bail set at $20,000.
