SCV Sports Report: TMU men’s and women’s hoops end postseasons

The TMU men’s basketball team fell in the second round of the NAIA Division 1 National Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri to Texas Wesleyan 77-75.

Hansel Atencia scored 16 points and four rebounds and Delewis Johnson had 16 points and three rebounds. Reid Shackelford had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Mustangs finished their season 27-5.

Women’s college basketball

Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 79, TMU 58

The Mustangs’ postseason ended in the second round of the Women’s NAIA National Tournament.

Hannah Forrar scored a team-high 15 points and had four rebounds. Bianca Cubello had 10 points and nine rebounds, while Sabrina Thompson had eight points and seven rebounds.

TMU ends the year with a 23-9 record.

Freshman baseball

Saugus 12, Valencia 6

The Cents found themselves down 6-1, but fought back for the win.

On Wednesday, Saugus defeated Canyon 13-2.
