The Santa Clarita Valley witnessed multiple traffic incidents during slight rainfall in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Newhall Pass recorded 0.16 inches of rain from approximately 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. while Saugus recorded .08 inches of rain during that time.
No more rainfall is expected today according to Meteorologist Robbie Munroe with the National Weather Service.
“It looks like the rainfall has come to an end,” he said.
Although, there were a few traffic incidents that happened while rain fell in SCV.
At 1:40 a.m., a call came in reporting a semi truck had overturned on the right shoulder of the truck route on the Southbound Interstate 5 at Highway 14.
“It was an injury collision,” said Officer Peter Nicholson with the Regional Traffic Management Center.
Two other traffic incidents occurred at the same location around the same time.
A Honda CR-V hit the center divider, injuring one person at 1:31 a.m. and a Jeep spun out at 1:37 a.m., blocking at least one lane. Both incidents occurred on the Southbound Interstate 5 at Highway 14.
No one was injured in the jeep incident.
Officials advise driving cautiously and keeping a firm hand on the steering wheel when traveling in the rain.
