Two Canyon Country women – one who died of a lethal knife wound and the woman accused of killing her Saturday – have been identified by authorities.

Lt. Rudy Molano of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 46-year-old Christine Diane Mcqueen.

An official cause and manner of her death has yet to be determined, an autopsy is scheduled to be done on the victim’s body in the next couple of days, Molano told The Signal Monday.

The woman arrested Saturday by deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of murder is Pamela Michelle Walker, 34.

Walker, who is unemployed, was arrested shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday.

She was placed in custody at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, with bail set at $1 million.

Walker is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court Tuesday.

Deputies responded to an incident on the 18700 block of Vista Del Canon near Sierra Highway and Via Princessa.

When they arrived, they found the body of a deceased woman inside the residence after breaking down the door with a battering ram.

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Homicide Bureau were called to investigate the case.   Detectives Theodor Baljet and Troy Ewing are assigned to the case.

Deputies learned of the incident shortly after 5:45 p.m. when the victim’s mother called the SCV Sheriff’s Station from the Burbank area saying that her daughter’s live-in girlfriend was involved in a verbal altercation with her daughter.

The mother was in the presence of the suspect at the time.

The girlfriend told the victim’s mother that there was an assault during the altercation.

Local law enforcement responded to the call and detained the suspect at the mother’s residence.

“A suspect was arrested and transported to Santa Clarita Valley,” said Deputy Lisa Jansen with the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Signal staff writer Nikolas Samuels contributed to this report.
