Robert Danielson, of Castaic, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for having killed his wife, Nicole.

Robert Danielson, 31, who was arrested in 2015 on suspicion of murder but last month pleaded no contest to the reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter, was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison, Ricardo Santiago, spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.

“He was sentenced to 18 years in state prison,” he said.

Danielson was arrested shortly after his wife’s body was found in the Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park in Castaic, Lt. Steve Jauch of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Homicide Bureau, said at the time.

Last month, Danielson entered a plea of no contest to manslaughter in exchange for a prison sentence of 18 years.

On Wednesday, he appeared in San Fernando Superior Court where he was formally sentenced.

Danielson was taken into custody Oct. 24, 2015, the night of the killing, but he wasn’t arrested on suspicion of murder until two days later following an autopsy, Jauch said in 2015.

“He was arrested for blunt force trauma to the head.”

The couple had two children — a daughter, 3 years old, and a 1-year-old son — Jauch said.
