Do you think SCV residents will have a voice in how Measure H funds are spent?

Our “voice” will be tax funding to a vast county bureaucracy spun up to spend Prop H funds with little impact locally.

    • Anthony Breznican

Really? Bitter whining over a little help being given to the neediest. Got anything else?

      • Ron Bischof

        Yes, really.

I have decades of empirical data to reference, i.e. education, water bonds, “temporary” sales taxes, etc. that reflect enormous expenditures with little to no efficacy. That’s not “whining”, it’s rational cost/benefit analysis. And $3 billion over a span of 10 years isn’t a “little help”, even for the county spendthrifts.

What have you got beyond an ad hominem, Mr. Brezican?

        • Anthony Breznican

How are you so delicate and tender that any critique sends you off sniveling about “ad hominem”? Boo hoo. It’s painfully obvious you’re the kind of guy who likes to claim he has “empirical data,” when really you’re a b.s. master. All you have is your opinion — which is selfish, and small and coated with a veneer of formality to mask its pettiness, Mr. Bishoff.

          • Ron Bischof

Your post is non-responsive to my points and contains more personal attacks rather a scintilla of a rebuttal. Accuracy ≠ delicacy, eh?

Here’s but one example of “empirical data” for those with intellectual curiosity:

            http://www.latimes.com/opinion/editorials/la-ed-school-funding-for-disadvantaged-students-20150618-story.html

California Has Most Failing Schools in Nation

            http://www.laweekly.com/news/california-has-most-failing-schools-in-nation-2392558

Do you possess the intellectual rigor to compose a cogent argument or are petty insults the only scribblings you’re capable of, Mr. Brezican?

          • Anthony Breznican

Oh look who’s getting sassy now! Measure H is a great program that I hope is implemented in a way that makes life better for those who are not as fortunate as us. Your old news stories about the school system have nothing to do with Measure H, homelessness, or aid to the needy. Please stop with your nonsense.

          • Ron Bischof

My point was about ineffectual government programs that consume the majority of funding in overhead rather than assisting the intended recipients of taxpayer largess. That’s what cost/benefit analysis is, eh?

Let me know when you have Measure H data to support your assertions.

Until you do, the rational can review the underperformance of CA government entities that span decades, as I originally noted.

Here’s a perspective from another local columnist, Gary Horton:

This “bleeding heart liberal” would normally jump at the chance to back a homelessness intervention tax. But this local businessman also understands that cutting any sum of money in 21 different directions, subjected to the whims of multiple rounds of community and special interest panels, burdened by multiple layers of bureaucracy and overhead, distributed across 4,751 square miles, and thinned out by rent-profiteers will, in the end, supply just a trickle of benefit for most of its objectives.

          • Anthony Breznican

LOL, the more you write the less you say!

          • Gary Bierend

Brezican: “Measure H is a great program …”

Please enlighten me as to how you arrived at that? The tax doesn’t even go into effect until July 1. Perhaps you meant to say “I hope Measure H turns out to be a great program…”

Brezican: “LOL, the more you write the less you say!”

            Projection perhaps?

          • Anthony Breznican

Are you dim? Obviously I mean it sounds like a terrific program, which is why an overwhelming majority of voters cast ballots in favor of it.

Funny how you tantrum-throwers are complaining about it before it’s even implemented, but no one is allowed to say they support it. Nice logic! LOL

          • Gary Bierend

Dim? I don’t think so. I’m pretty confident with what I write, and rarely have to correct something once it’s posted.

You, on the other hand, posted something that made no sense. After seeing what you posted, I gave you the benefit of the doubt and suggested you meant something other than what you wrote. The fact that your post was nonsensical and required clarification is not a reflection of how bright or dim I am, Anthony.

I’d like you to point out the “tantrum” you are accusing me of throwing, I have no recollection of it.

          • Anthony Breznican

We’re all so impressed! You sound like Fredo from The Godfather Part II: “I’m smart! Not dumb, like people say! I’m SMART and I deserve respect!” Ha ha ha… Thanks for brightening my day.

          • Gary Bierend

Your posts exhibit a great deal of anxiety and unhappiness, if making fun of me helps to brighten your day, well, by all means, be my guest. It’s better you take it out on someone you don’t know than lashing out at a loved one.

I truly hope your situation improves, keep your chin up!

By the way, did you find the evidence of a tantrum? I’d really like to see it, thanks in advance.

          • Anthony Breznican

You came at me, bro! Now you’re playing victim? Please.

          • Gary Bierend

Wow, so sensitive! All I asked you to do was explain how you arrived at your claim that Measure H was a “great program” when there is absolutely zero evidence to back up what you said. Again, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Your response?

            “Are you dim?”

You came at me. When I responded to your question, you referred to me as Fredo, which I assume was not meant to be complimentary, so you came at me again.

You accused me of being a “tantrum thrower” (and have yet tp provide any evidence to back it up), which was your third attack.

I’m sorry your life is so unhappy, and I truly hope it turns around for you. Perhaps then you will have some clarity.

          • Anthony Breznican

Ha ha, okay, you want to make weird claims about me personally? Why don’t you use your “second sight” to learn about Measure H, the way the rest of us did before voting for it? I won’t make any personal claims or insults about you. I’m an adult. Please educate yourself about the news – I do my own homework, but I’m not here to tutor the willfully ignorant.

          • Gary Bierend

You seem confused. You claim I want to make personal claims about you, but I am just commenting on what I observe.

You, on the other hand, have questioned my mental acuity by asking if I am “dim”, compared me to Godfather slacker Fredo, accused me of throwing a tantrum, and most recently accused me of being ill informed and ignorant.

So much anger, it’s really sad. Let me attempt to speak to you in a manner that you will understand. “Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

I don’t want you to suffer Anthony, you should let go of your anger and hate, not let it flow through you.

          • Anthony Breznican

Don’t whine to me after you make a lot of personal accusations. I’m just finishing what you started. I’m not going to tolerate trolls. Sorry, Chester. You don’t like it, don’t come at me pinwheeling your arms.

          • Gary Bierend

Hmmm, again, you seem confused. As I detailed in my last post, it is you that made this personal, not me. I suspect whatever it is in your personal life that has you so stressed out and angry is probably adding to your confusion, you even called me by the wrong name!

No problem, just take a deep breath, count to ten, relax. Perhaps you can try prayer, a mantra or chanting…it couldn’t hurt!

If that doesn’t work, there are professionals that can help you dealing with modern life.

In the meantime, perhaps the source of your anger is this very forum. Perhaps you might do well to avoid it for a little bit, you know, until you get control of your emotions. I fear for your health, your level of stress could really cause you some problems. You need to look out for yourself.

I hope you’re able to get a handle on this, good luck.

          • Anthony Breznican

I don’t know why you are obsessively fantasizing about me.

          • Gary Bierend

Oh great, you’re back! Did you ever find evidence of a tantrum that you mentioned? I can’t wait to see it.

          • Anthony Breznican

Uh, clearly you’re still throwing it. One way we deal with tantrums is to ignore the attention-seeking. You’ve crossed the line into creepy stalking now. Bye-bye.

          • Ron Bischof
          • Anthony Breznican

Hey, it’s Lying Ron, with a little picture!

          • Ron Bischof

You appear to find words scary, so my thought was you’d be more comfortable with pictures.

Do you want to hold the doll?

          • Anthony Breznican

What are you talking about? You just get more juvenile with every comment, Ron.

          • Gary Bierend

Aw gee, I’m going to miss you, you brought so much to the discussion! I hope you use your time away to address your anger issues, it’s obvious you need some help. Perhaps your employer has some provision in their insurance plan.

          • Anthony Breznican

Yeah, you’re describing yourself there: Anger, tantrums, boasting, creepy stalking, obsession. Pretty twisted way to behave. You derailed this conversation about Measure H to embark on some weird personal hang up against me. I don’t even know you. You keep mentioning my work. If you want my attention for professional purposes, try doing something worthwhile?

          • Gary Bierend

You see, this display of emotion and your unbridled projection is why I’m worried about you. You view of the world is clearly clouded by your anger, you really need to address that. The help is out there, your first step to getting better is admitting you have a problem. I wish you the best of luck with your journey to recovery!

          • Anthony Breznican

All anyone has to do is scroll up to see you doing exactly that.

          • Gary Bierend

Indeed, I would encourage people to do just that, including you.

You may achieve a moment of clarity, and realize how that bitter root of anger has taken hold of you. Imagine how liberating it will be to rid yourself of that burden! Go for Anthony, I’m rooting for you!

          • Gary Bierend

See, this is how your hate has blinded you. I have never mentioned your “work”, only that your employer (whoever that may be) might have coverage that can help you through your anger issues. Sadly, it seems your anger in morphing into paranoia. That should concern you and your loved ones.

            For everyone’s sake, seek help.

          • charles maurice detallyrand

Anthony, that pretty much is the best description of Ron I’ve seen yet. Please comment more often.

          • Anthony Breznican

Thanks, Charles! Glad I hit the bullseye. I’m no fan of flame wars (believe it or not), but I’m fed up, you know?
