Firefighters respond to brush fire near Vista Del Lago

UPDATED 6:45 p.m.

Battlion Chief No. 6 reports forward progression has been stopped on the Vista Fire. The fire is holding at three acres.

UPDATED 6:32 p.m.

Two fire helicopters have been released from the Vista Fire. Lane No. 4 of Interstate 5 will be closed for approximately three to four hours, per the CHP Traffic Incident Information page.

UPDATED 6:17 p.m.

All lanes of Interstate 5 have been requested to be shut down, per the CHP Traffic Incident Information page. The request was downgraded to encompass lanes No. 3 and 4.
Just as many are going home for the weekend, firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire near Vista Del Lago burning near the northbound lanes of Interstate 5.

UPDATED 6:11 p.m.

The brush fire was first reported shortly after 5:45 p.m. and was reported to have burned about three acres shortly after 6 p.m.

“We have a small brush fire moving in moderate winds through grass and brush,” a captain with the Los Angeles County Fire Department told The Signal.
