A 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Wednesday in connection with a stabbing that allegedly happened about two months ago.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a house on Edgeview Place shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday and quickly set up a containment area near Shadow Pines.

“We went to a location on the 14500 block of Edgeview Place regarding the arrest of a juvenile wanted for attempted murder,” Lt. Ignacio Somoano told The Signal.

“This was for a stabbing incident that happened two or three months ago, basically a domestic violence incident,” Somoano said.

Shortly after 2 p.m., deputies with an arrest warrant went to the residence on Edgeview, between Begonias Lane and Hidden Oak Place, north and east of Shadow Pines Boulevard.

“She was wanted for stabbing someone,” Somoano said.

“They found her and took her into custody,” he said, noting she will likely to be taken to the Sylmar Juvenile Detention facility in Sylmar.
