Unbelievably Entertaining!! Where else can you see dancing and singing Chinese waiters!
Believe it or not, all of those beautiful Christmas songs that we hear year after year were written by Jewish songwriters.
Set almost entirely in a Chinese restaurant, Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas is an offbeat, irreverent musical documentary that tells the story of a group of Jewish songwriters, including Irving Berlin and Mel Tormé who wrote the soundtrack to Christianity’s most musical holiday. It’s an amazing tale of immigrant outsiders being accepted as important players in American pop culture.
With interviews by Jackie Mason, Alan Dershowitz, and a blend of musicians, comedians and experts, Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas is all about pure joy and celebration of the human spirit, infused with humor and the history behind your favorite Christmas carols.
**For example, the hit carol Do You Hear What I Hear? (which tells the story of the nativity) written by married couple Gloria Shayne Baker and Noel Regney, was a plea for peace during the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.**
