RESIDENTS INVITED TO ATTEND TOTALLY RAD
”CITY’S 30TH ANNIVERSARY” VISUAL ART RECEPTION
1980s Inspired Art Reception to Be Held at The MAIN on August 17
In 1987, Santa Clarita officially became a city. This year the City turns 30, and to celebrate the grand milestone, on Thursday, August 17 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., residents are invited to attend a free and totally rad 1980s inspired reception celebrating the newest visual art exhibit, “City’s 30th Anniversary,” at The MAIN, located at 24266 Main Street.
The MAIN will be transformed into a 1980s inspired space where participants will enjoy ‘80s music and appetizers, and will have a chance to meet the artists and photographers behind the artwork on display. The event will also feature an 8-bit wall art display and a special interactive installation inviting visitors to take photos and become part of a photo collage celebrating the residents of Santa Clarita.
The “City’s 30th Anniversary” visual art exhibit will run through the month of August. The exhibit celebrates the City’s 30th birthday by featuring images that capture Santa Clarita’s beautiful environment, architecture and vibrant community life. Photos were selected from submissions entered into the City Photo Contest (santa-clarita.com/SCPhoto). Also on display is artwork that reinterprets or is inspired by the City seal. Exhibit gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
