Free Tire Recycling Event in Santa Clarita on October 7
Santa Clarita – Los Angeles County residents who are eager to legally dispose of scrap tires cluttering their property can do so for free at the Waste Tire Recycling Event
in Santa Clarita on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Tires from cars, light-trucks and SUVs will be accepted at no charge. Rims will also be accepted.

FREE RECYCLING OF MATTRESSES & BOX SPRINGS

Event made possible by MRC’s Bye Bye Mattress program. Mattresses and box springs will be accepted for free and recycled through the Mattress Recycling Council’s California Bye Bye Mattress Program. The acceptance limit for this event is 5 units per vehicle, and it is open to residents of Santa Clarita and the surrounding communities.  Businesses are not permitted.

The event is scheduled to take place from:

Saturday, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Metrolink Station – Parking Lot
19201 Via Princessa, Santa Clarita, CA 91321

The Waste Tire Recycling Event is organized by the County’s Department of Public
Works.
In Los Angeles County, there are approximately 10 million tires to be disposed of
every year. Waste tires that are illegally dumped or improperly stored can pose a
serious threat to public health and safety, as well as to the environment. Tires left out in
the open can hold stagnant water, a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes that spread
West Nile Virus. The County’s Waste Tire Recycling Events are designed to not only
give residents a safe and legal way to get rid of their tires, but to recycle the rubber into
materials that can be used in construction, manufacturing, and other useful purposes.
For more information about the events or the County’s Waste Tire Recycling
Program, call 1(888) CLEANLA or log onto CleanLA.com.

MORE ABOUT BYE BYE MATTRESS:

Bye Bye Mattress is California’s mattress recycling program. Established by law and operated by the non-profit Mattress Recycling Council, the program uses a recycling fee collected on each mattress and box spring sold to state residents to make recycling easier in our communities. Whether a city picks up your discarded mattress, a retailer takes it back with your new purchase, or you drop it off, the Bye Bye Mattress program diverts your old mattress from waste to recycling. Now, our landfills will be less crowded as old mattresses are recycled into new, useful products.
