Intimate Moments at La Galeria Gitana

Six Santa Clarita Artists Association members have been accepted to the Intimate Moments exhibition at La Galeria Gitana in San Fernando.  A free reception for Intimate Moments is April 21st from 6-9pm. The exhibit will run from April 21 to June 1, 2018.

“The theme of this exhibit is to show the viewer a sense of closeness, where the subject is lost in their moment, action and world,” said Angela Phillips, Gallery Director.

Olga KaczmarI Apologize – I overheard and photographed two girls making up as friends after a spat. www.OlgaKaczmar.com

Laurie Morgan A Watchful Eye – The mother duck hatches ducklings in my yard every year; this is my favorite capture as it’s filled with emotion. http://www.lauriemorgan.biz

Jerry Cowart Love at First Sight – When I saw the theme of for the exhibit “Intimate Moments” I thought of people, but then I thought what expresses an intimate moment to me is my photo of two horses sharing that special moment. https://www.facebook.com/JerryCowartOriginalFineArtPhotography/

Barbara Eisenman Story Teller – This piece spoke to me the minute I set my eyes on the gourd. It said Pueblo story teller. It is very intimate telling tales to children about their past

Barbara Gassner – “I was inspired to make my quilted fabric painting of Fairies at Play after seeing Michael Miller’s Flower Fairy fabric. My vision came to life after fussy-cutting the fairies, machine appliqueing, and quilting the scene.  Being able to combine art and fabric is my definition of heaven.”

Jill Hackett – The Bookworm – brings back memories of the hours spent reading when I was a young girl. La Galeria Gitana is located on 120 N Maclay Ave., Ste. E, San Fernando, CA 91340. Free parking is available in the rear.  Gallery hours: Tuesday 12-6 Wed 12-4 pm or by appointment 818-898-7708. See www.GaleriaGitana.com.
