‘METAMORPHOSIS’ ART EXHIBIT AT THE MAIN IN NEWHALL TO SHOWCASE REPURPOSED COLLAGE ARTWORK BY PAIGE BRIDGES

Free art reception to be held on March 15 at The MAIN

Starting Tuesday, March 6, 2018, the art gallery at The MAIN in Old Town Newhall will showcase “Metamorphosis,” an art exhibition featuring repurposed, mixed media artwork by artist Paige Bridges. The exhibition will be on display through Friday, March 30, 2018, and is available for viewing during all events at The MAIN, as well as Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. – 5 p.m. An art reception for “Metamorphosis” will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The MAIN. Reception attendees will be able to view Bridges’ artwork, enjoy light refreshments and meet the artist. The MAIN is located at 24266 Main Street, Newhall, CA 91321.

“My work is a layered expression of my love for the arts,” says artist Paige Bridges. Paige uses photography and design as a starting point for her artwork and builds on them to create collages utilizing a mixture of magazine clippings, found objects and other items collected since childhood. Paige says by using repurposed materials in her collage, she can “find the hidden potential in these items, transforming them into something more pleasing and showing that there is always more to things than meets the eye.”

In her youth, Paige was surrounded by artists who allowed her to experience and appreciate all mediums of art. In the ‘70s she fell in love with printmaking while attending Barnsdall Art Center in Los Angeles. She continued her education with the art program at Los Angeles Valley College and eventually majored in art at Cal State Long Beach with an emphases on printmaking.
