The Santa Paula Theater Center will present PHIL SALAZAR AND THE KIN FOLK on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm. You may purchase tickets online at www.santapaulatheatercenter.org or by calling the box office at (805) 525-4645. Walkups are welcomed for unreserved seats. All tickets are $20.

This is a very rare performance with the reuniting of Phil Salazar with his band The Kin Folk. Salazar is a fiddle champion himself and has taught several fiddle champions, recording and touring artists. Phil has recordings with his bands and with such notables as Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead, Jonathan McEuen, Kenny Loggins, Kate Wolf, Gilles Apap, Kathy Fink and The Acousticats.

Joining Salazar will be Tom Corbett, Mike Mullins, Bill Knopf, Charl Ann Gastineau, and Rick Borella. These folks have been playing music together for 32 years, mixing traditional music with rock, blues, country,  jazz, Irish, pop and bluegrass, just to name a few.  In addition to amazing fiddle playing, Phil Salazar and the Kin Folk’s concert at SPTC will feature rich vocals, tight harmony and lots of laughs.

Tom Corbett, a Southern California “A” List Picker himself, has been called “the funniest guy on stage”. A 2011 Kerville New Folk Songwriter Finalist and a 2012 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour, Tom has toured with John McEuen, Robin and Linda Williams, and The Acousticats.

Mike Mullins plays and records with The Cache Valley Drifters, The Hay Dudes, Kenny Blackwell, and The Acousticats. Bill Knopf – another Southern California “A” List Picker – has played with almost everybody and boasts of having taught the rest. Charl Ann Gastineau – Phil’s twin fiddle partner since 1985, and Rick Borella, a Santa Barbara staple for 40 years playing bass, have both recorded many times and toured with The Acousticats.

Don’t miss this intimate evening with some of the finest pickers in Southern California!

Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online at www.santapaulatheatercenter.org or by calling 805.525.4645.  Doors open at 7 pm with the concert kicking off at 7:30 pm.
