The Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA) is a project in collaboration with College of the Canyon CACT program to prepare people with high functioning autism in the CNC manufacturing field. Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) in conjunction with America’s Job Centers of California (AJCC) are working together to provide applicants who qualify with funding so that the program is free of cost to the trainees. Jay Nolan Community Services (JNCS) is providing a program coordinator so serve as a mentor and liaison to the trainees, family, funders, instructors, college, etc.

The Uniquely Able Academy debuted at Glendale Community College where it was well received and has encountered much success. GCC is now on their 3rd cohort and the vision behind this program, Dr. Ivan Rosenberg, has now brought it to College of the Canyons. Services providers across the SCV community have been meeting for months to make this program here a success.

Here are some websites that will provide more context to UAA.
