A Los Angeles man who was arrested on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child at the Valencia Library appeared in court Tuesday, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said.
“He was charged today with one misdemeanor count of child molesting,” DA spokesman Ricardo Santiago said Tuesday.
Christopher Cline, who turns 26 next month, was arrested late Monday afternoon by deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station after he allegedly approached a 14-year-old girl using a computer at the Valencia Library, Lt. Brenda Cambra told The Signal Tuesday.
“The suspect approached her and started talking to her,” Cambra said. “He then gave her a piece of paper with a social media account and a phone number and told her to call him.
“The victim felt very uncomfortable and reported the incident. Deputies responded and based on the information provided, the suspect was arrested for Annoy or Molest Child,” she said.
“It was reported that there may have been other incidents at the library involving the suspect,” Cambra said.
“If you believe you were a victim, please call the sheriff’s station and report the crime.”
Cline is being held in custody with bail set at $20,000, according to arrest documents.
