Big rig crash results in lane closures on Interstate 5

Three lanes of southbound Interstate 5 are closed near Pyramid Lake as officials work to clear the scene of a tractor trailer which rolled down a hill early Saturday morning.

A sig alert was issued around the time of the incident.

“The number 2, 3 and 4 lanes (of southbound Interstate 5) are blocked until further notice,” said Officer Michele Bond of the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at 2:23 a.m. between Pyramid Lake and the Whitaker Brake Check.

Two patients were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries as a result of the crash, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

CHP officials say the sig alert will be active until 8 p.m. Saturday.
