Two men were arrested on suspicion of burglary Wednesday in connection with two separate burglaries.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to a report a possible burglar inside a fenced business, Lt. Brenda Cambra of the station’s Detective Section told The Signal Friday.

“They arrived and saw the suspect jump the fence to exit the fenced and locked area,” she said.

“Inside the fence, a vehicle had been burglarized and the door lock damaged.  The suspect was arrested for burglary and vandalism,” Cambra said.

Mark Johnsen, 20, of Santa Clarita, was arrested on suspicion of burglary shortly after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

His bail was set at $20,000.

In a separate and unrelated incident, deputies on patrol saw a man looking into a car in the area of La Granja Drive in Valencia, Cambra said.

“The deputy located what appear to be stolen items in a backpack he was carrying, she said. “ He was arrested for possession of burglary tools and possible burglary.
