A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Canyon Country was sent to the hospital with minor complaints of pain, officials confirmed Monday afternoon.
The unidentified pedestrian was apparently crossing Soledad Canyon Road at Galeton Road against a red light shortly before 3:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Chris Maurizi of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
A gray pickup truck traveling westbound on Soledad Canyon Road struck the pedestrian. The driver stopped the vehicle and has so far cooperated with authorities.
No one was detained or arrested in connection with the incident.
The pedestrian was treated by Los Angeles County Fire Station 107 crews at the scene and transported to the hospital via American Medical Response ambulance.
The incident marked the second occurrence in less than seven hours in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. In a separate incident, a vehicle rolled over a man’s leg in Castaic.
No additional details about the Canyon Country event were made available as of 6 p.m.
