Homeless man arrested for riding an unlit bicycle

 A homeless man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of operating a bicycle at night without lights.

The man, identified by deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station as a transient named John Doe, was arrested 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to arrest papers issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The 32-year-old who refused to give deputies his occupation was issued a citation, sheriff’s station spokeswoman Shirley Miller told The Signal Thursday.
