This year Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, HMNH, will once again be collecting brand new 9-12” teddy bears and other stuffed animal friends during their April 2017 Teddy Bears and Friends Drive.
Last year over 3,686 teddy bears and other animal friends were collected by various schools, clubs, business partners, community members and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital employees.
Since January 2016, the Emergency Department at Henry Mayo has treated 12,000 pediatric patients 14 years of age and under. Weekly calls were received from staff to replenish the supply of furry friends. Your donations help to bring comfort to a sick or injured child.
This year the collection will be a little different. Because of the generosity of all of those that contributed, the donations had to be stored off-site because of lack of space at the hospital. Last year Craig Medical Supply and Camelot Moving and Storage generously worked hard to store all of the donations.
HMNH will be hosting an official “Bear Collection Day” event on Saturday, April 29. Donations will be accepted between the hours of 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Camelot Moving and Storage, 28040 Industry Drive in Valencia. Camelot Moving and Storage has partnered with HMNH to host this event which will include fun giveaways, photo opportunities and the Sweet Beams Ice Cream Truck.
