Here is the Castaic/ Val Verde Crime Information and Public Safety Report for the Week of May 8, 2017 to May 14, 2017:
5/09/17
Petty theft- 28000 block of Industry Drive
The business owner reported a battery from his work truck was stolen. There was also damage to the vehicle door.
Domestic Assault- 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported being assaulted by her boyfriend. The suspect and victim both admitted to using narcotics hours before the incident. The suspect also damaged the TV and front window to the victim’s room. The suspect was an invited guest. The victim was not desirous of a retraining order.
5/13/17
Theft- 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported several items from her purse missing after it was “dumped” in the street by her companion. Some of the items missing from her purse included a driver’s license, credit card and Social Security card. The items were last seen on 05/12/17 between 1-3 a.m.
Remember to never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
