Annie Christofferson scored 23 points, pulled down five boards and had three steals in the Indians’ home win.
Haylyn Nguyen contributed 15 points, six assists and three rebounds. Trudy Larkins had four points, five steals and eight rebounds.
Hart will next play against LaSalle today in the Burroughs Tournament at 7:30 p.m.
Canyon 69, Burbank 34
Boise State signee Rachel Bowers led the way with 24 points and Talia Taufaasau had 17 points in the Cowboys’ season opener.
Bowers also had a team-high 14 rebounds while Taufaasau added 10 assists and four steals.
Selasi Mawugbe had eight points and two rebounds. Canyon will take on Agoura at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Glendale College in the Burroughs Tournament.
Girls Soccer
West Ranch 6, Burbank 0
Madeline D’Errico scored two goals for the Wildcats while Faith Gale, Ally Snyder, Hannah Sullivan and Danielle Ilium added goals as well.
West Ranch hosts Chaminade at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Trinity teams out to hot start
The Knight boys basketball team is out to a 3-0 start, picking up wins over Villanova Prep (56-42) Grace Brethren (69-47) and Vasquez (50-41) last week to win the SCCS Cardinal Tip Off. Tyler Lee received the tournament’s MVP honors.
The boys soccer team defeated SCVi last Thursday, 5-2, to open its season. The Knights host Desert Christian at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
