Valencia’s first StretchLab — an assisted stretching facility — is set to hold its grand opening this week, and has already began accepting members.

StretchLab hopes to introduce people of all ages, fitness levels, genders and sizes to the health and wellness benefits that can result from a regular routine of stretching, said co-owner Byron Elton, who soft opened StretchLab Valencia with his son Tanner Elton back in January.

The pair originally became interested in opening up a facility in the Santa Clarita Valley after an experience at a StretchLab in Santa Monica, where they were assisted in performing head-to-toe stretches that addressed each of their major muscle groups.

“I love it. It’s changed my whole level of fitness,” said Elton, adding that he hopes it will do the same for the broader community. “We brought the experience of world-class athletes to the rest of us, so now everybody can find ways to prevent injuries and increase mobility.”

Elton said that StretchLab Valencia will offer a variety of one-on-one personalized stretching services that concentrate on the client’s individual needs.

“Valencia’s a community that is very, very fitness oriented, and we’ve had an overwhelming positive response already,” said Elton, mentioning that the facility has already secured a few memberships.

“We are literally days away from our (grand) opening,” the co-owner said, as he shared the planned raffles, free demonstrations and other grand opening festivities that will occur from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. “There will be food, vendors and fun.”

Special membership offers will continue through the weekend, according to Elton, who said StretchLab Valencia will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The studio can be reached online at www.StretchLab.com, by email at [email protected] or by phone at 661-645-0213. It’s located at 27093 McBean Parkway in Valencia.
