Child hit by car suffers minor injuries

Emergency response crews raced to the scene of a child hit by a car in Canyon Country late Thursday afternoon.

About 5:20 p.m., deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a car on the 27500 block of Sierra Highway.

“A child was hit on Sierra Highway near an apartment complex,” Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station said.

“It is my understanding, from what I’m hearing, that the child suffered minor injuries.”

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department also responded to the call.

“We were alerted to a call about a pedestrian by sheriff’s deputies,” a Fire Department official who identified himself as an official with the 911 dispatch center.,
