Crime Prevention Unit deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station took one into custody this morning as part of their ongoing operations to ensure probationers are in compliance, officials said. One suspect is still outstanding.
The Wednesday morning operation, which was assisted by the station’s Juvenile Intervention Team, and the county’s Probation Department, investigated multiple addresses to make sure the probationers were living at the addresses listed and not involved in illegal activity.
“They hit four locations this morning that were in Valencia,” said Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station. “Two of the probationers were found to be in violation.”
One of the probationers was not living at the address listed, Miller said, which is one of the things deputies are looking to verify. Another was accused of having weapons and narcotics.
“There were individuals who were home at the address, and deputies were able to make entry into the home and find items in the probationer’s room, such as narcotics,” Miller said, adding there were also throwing stars, the weapon, found in the home.
Deputies discovered the individual was believed to be at a park off Bouquet Canyon Road, where he was then located and arrested, Miller said. The person was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
“It went very smoothly,” Miller said, noting the suspect was taken into custody at the park without incident.
Deputies are still seeking the suspect who was not living at the address reported to the Probation Department.
