Deputies checking out a suspicious person in a parking lot Sunday ended up arresting three men on suspicion of illegal drugs, stolen mail and stolen goods.

About 9:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to call for “suspicious activity” at a shopping center parking lot on Bouquet Canyon Road at Seco Canyon Road.

Deputies checking on three men inside a car at the location also allegedly found methamphetamine, heroin, stolen mail and blank checks.

“Thank you to the citizen who made the call,” Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station, said Monday after providing details of the arrests.

The suspects include: a 47-year-old transient arrested on suspicion of unlawful mail theft; a 23-year-old Saugus man arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property; and a 43-year-old Canyon Country man arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Each of the suspects was identified by arresting deputies as unemployed.
