A man was stabbed in the hand with a knife during a road rage altercation near Home Depot Plaza and Newhall Ranch Road on Monday afternoon, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Two men were seen getting out of their vehicles — a silver sedan and a black pickup — after one man cut the other man off on the road, according to Sarah, a witness, who did not want to disclose her last name.
Sarah said that she and the other two cars were making a left near Kelly Johnson Parkway heading toward Home Depot Plaza and Newhall Ranch Road when the altercation happened.
She added that the altercation escalated when the man who exited the sedan had a knife between his knuckles and attempted to punch the man who had exited the truck, stabbing his hand instead.
The man in the sedan sped away, according to Sarah and a video of the incident.
Sarah added that she saw the man who got stabbed pull over near Baywood Lane and McBean Parkway and she decided to reverse her car to check on him.
Although Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel had no record of transports from the scene, firefighters treated and loaded the man into the ambulance at the scene.
Deputies are actively looking for the suspect, according to Deputy Daniel Smith with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s wearing a white shirt, according to Deputy Robert Jensen with the station.
