An HVAC system failure prompted firefighters to respond to reports of a commercial fire in Newhall on Friday afternoon, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department official.
At 1:46 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue to a commercial fire, said Saadullah Sheikh, a spokesman for the Fire Department.
Once the first unit arrived, which was four minutes after initial dispatch time, firefighters assessed the incident and discovered smoke was coming from a faulty heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, according to Sheikh.
No injuries or transports were reported, he added.
