Circus Vargas is back in town and ready to take guests back in time to the 1920s, also known as the Golden Age of Hollywood, with its new show titled “Hollywood Dreams!” beginning Saturday at the Valencia Town Center mall.
On Thursday an ensemble of employees worked at raising the tent, which was an eight-hour-long process and signified the circus’ arrival and the start of show season in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Owner of the circus, Katya Arata-Quiroga, hopes that people take away the “wonderful feeling, the connection that the circus has with Hollywood. We’re both like a form of art, we are different, but at the same time, a similar industry. We’re here to entertain,” she said as she stopped to watch the workers assembling all the needed pieces to raise the tent.
This year, Circus Vargas has new performances aiming to take the audience on a thrilling adventure with a high wire, motorcycles, and even some singing and comedy, she added.
“We want people to just have a good time, feel and see how Hollywood has transformed through time and enjoy the amazing act and just spend a good time with their family,” Arata-Quiroga said.

The traveling circus was established in 1969 and it anticipates filling all 1,000 seats on opening night. There are still tickets available for all shows, Arata-Quiroga said, and encouraged possible attendees to purchase tickets through the circus website or at the box office and not from third-party vendors because they often overcharge. Ticket pricing ranges from $25 to $85, according to Arata-Quiroga.
Circus Vargas aims to create a show designed for people of all ages. Whether it’s a 2-year-old toddler or a 99-year-old grandma, “everybody will enjoy the circus, it’s wholesome and it’s family entertainment,” Arata-Quiroga said.
The two-hour production will run starting Saturday until Oct. 20 and multiple showtimes are available.
